The mallet section of the percussion section currently has Five members Joe Allen, Gregg Oxley, Daniel Ray, Jessica Carmichael, and Amy Harper. Drew Hudgins will be returning as the percussion instructor and next year, so we are also looking forward to a great season. He also writes our percussion parts. Every section in the band adds something to the show. The pit adds many things to the show such as effects that a marching member would have dificulty doing and reinforcing the woodwind parts. The instruments we use to create these are effects things such as tire rims, oil drums, empty propane tanks, cymbals, and tractor gears. We also play a variety of keyboards. All in all, we are looking forward to a fun and exciting season.
